Twenty-nine people, including senior Congress party leaders, were killed in a brutal attack carried out by Maoists in the Jiram Ghati area of Chhattisgarh. The attack left the state Congress leadership in Chhattisgarh virtually devastated. An NIA court has now sentenced ten individuals to death in connection with this case, which had been ongoing for over 13 years.
