The new outfit, Nationalist Congress Party (Secular) [NCP (S)], was formed in response to NCP (SP) leadership’s growing ties with the BJP-led NDA, especially during the recent Baramati Assembly bypoll in Maharashtra. The new party aims to remain aligned with the LDF and is set to hold its first general body meeting on June 20.
